Cubs and Scouts Badge
We are dedicated to working within our client's budget delivering a fun, exciting, exclusive, colourful, mixed skilled workshop. All are teachers and performers are CRB checked and hold full public liability and fire insurance.
Our workshops can cater for different groups we cover many different areas of circus skills training brownies, cubs, rainbow, Scouts, we're trained to work with these individuals on taking them through each key stage of passing their circus skills and performance badges.
We ran structured workshops which include 10 different kinds of circus skills we cover face painting and all areas of making equipment as well as working each group up to performance level where they can display their work in front of an audience. This gives the students a chance to be creative and allows them to put on their own shows/performance. By giving the children the freedom to create their own show we encourages them to work harder on learning there circus skills quickly.
Workshops run on two hour slots this is the breakdown of our workshops and the skills we offer: We give examples of how to use the equipment and perform demonstrations, this is interactive with students as we ask after we have demonstrated how to use the equipment - one or two children from the workshop to come up and show what we have just shown. We also talk about the history of the equipment and which country the children think it originates from and where it really comes from. This part can often come as a surprise to the individuals. Many circus skills are linked to numerous countries as well as martial arts and dance.
This runs for about 30 minutes.
We separate the room into 8 to 12 sections depending on equipment that is being used. We will break the children down into groups and send them to an activity they will get to work on to activities at the time. After 20 min we will ask the children to change activities giving them the freedom to work on what they would like they get to move around all activities at this point giving everything a go they do not need to stay in their groups.
The teacher will walk around and keep demonstrating and encouraging each group to work with the equipment to the best of their ability. Encouraging them to think of new ways and tricks they can do with each piece of equipment. The children then get to choose three pieces of equipment and a group they would like to work with we then encourage them by playing different types of music to put on a show/performance. The teachers will then give different ideas and demonstrations collaborating with the children ways to put on performance.
For the last half-hour of the workshop the children get to help build a stage cleared the and tidy the equipment and demonstrate their work. We were then asked the children why they have chosen the specific pieces of equipment and which country they fill their show/performance would originate from.
We then talked the children through different ways of performing i.e. stage fright, nervous, smiling, facing the audience bowing and encouraging each other along the way. Within this we create a sense of being in a big top tent circus.
Our workshops with one teacher/leader can hold up to 25 students. If there are more than 25 students we will ask another teacher to assist in this class there will be an additional cost of £50 half day/ £100 full day.
